At Canyon Ridge, baptism is a wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime event that celebrates the beginning of the Christian life. We practice believer's baptism by immersion as a symbol and sign of the decision to put one's faith in Jesus Christ and to trust in His sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of their sins.
If you are unsure of what that means, or if you have not accepted Christ as your savior, you can learn more about that here.

When Are Baptisms Held?
Baptisms are available every week following the 9:00 AM service on Sunday (check in about 10:15 AM) at the outdoor baptism pool area. November - Easter baptisms are done inside once a month due to weather. Baptisms are also available once a month on Saturday (see the schedule below). A check-in table and volunteers are available each week to help you take this step or answer other questions.
What Do I Need To Bring Or Prepare And Where Do I Come?
For outdoor baptism, check-in near the outdoor baptism area, near the waterfalls. Bring a change of clothes and a towel, and wear clothes you don't mind getting wet. We will give you a God First t-Shirt and a Bible.
Ladies, please wear pants or appropriate shorts (no skirts, dresses or white). You are welcome to invite family and friends, take photos, and celebrate this special time together. We will also send you a baptism certificate in the mail about 2-3 weeks after your baptism.
What Will Actually Happen At My Baptism
Those being baptized will enter the baptistery pool and be met by the pastor or person leading the baptism that day. A short reminder of the new commitment to Christ and what this act symbolizes is stated and then the person will be fully immersed in water (to picture the death of Christ) and raised again out of the water (to give the picture of Christ's resurrection). Those gathered around cheer and clap to celebrate this decision.
Infant and Baby Dedication
Because we believe that the Bible teaches that baptism is something that happens after a person has made their decision to follow Christ, we do not baptize children younger than 1st grade as we do not feel they can understand the decision clearly. For infants and babies, we do offer a baby dedication service for parents three times a year (January - Sanctity of Life, Mother's Day, and Labor Day weekends). Contact our elementary ministries coordinator at 658-2722 ext 240 for more information.
