Eagles Home School Program
EAGLES began with a few Canyon Ridge families who saw a need for parental support and family community among homeschoolers in the church. With the guidance and encouragement of Canyon Ridge leadership EAGLES has grown, along with the church, into a thriving community able to reach out and encourage families seeking to train their children at home.
Our Mission

Our vision is to partner with mothers and fathers as they seek the Lord in discipling their children through home education. Our goal is to establish the character of Christ in our homes, and to equip and preserve future generations to serve Him. We use the Bible as our standard of conduct and seek to represent Christ at all times. Membership is open to families who agree to abide by this authority.
What We Do
Volunteers make our ministry possible. By sharing our gifts, we all benefit from a variety of member-sponsored ideas, activities, and classes. We strive to offer family activities, and some specifically geared to our elementary, tween, and teen children. We ask all parents, and even teen members, to prayerfully consider where they can serve the group.
Our activities are meant to enhance, and not overshadow, your family home school. In the past, we have offered family picnics, service projects, field trips, park days, spelling bees, science fairs, classes, parties for different ages, graduation & promotion ceremonies, and standardized testing, to name a few. Each year is different, based on the contributions of our members.
New to Homeschooling?
Nevada Homeschool Network provides information on Nevada State Home school Law, and a step by step guide to Filing for Exemption in Nevada.
If you are new to homeschooling, or to EAGLES, we encourage you and your spouse to attend our Newcomer’s Orientation in August. This will allow us to meet in person and discuss any questions you have and give you a feel for the group. We will also open up fall registration at this time. Because the meeting focuses on supporting the needs of parents, we ask that children do not attend (with the exception of nursing infants). We do offer childcare for this reason, with reservations required. Check the homeschooling events to the right for information on the next orientation.

These meetings are a central point of contact and information for our parents. We have guest speakers from time to time, how-to "clinics" on different areas important to homeschoolers, panels of homeschooling parents who answer questions on a variety of topics and is a great time for fellowship and snacks too!
Childcare is available, please RSVP to reserve a spot for your children. There is a fee for childcare. Nursing babies are welcome in the meetings. We ask that you be sensitive to any disruptions and refrain from bringing older children to the meetings as well.
Our e-mail loop and web page is our main form of communication. You can view our calendar on the web page and post items pertaining to homeschooling and general needs for prayer and info on the loop. Event reminders are also posted through our e-mail loop.
