EAGLES Homeschool

“All your sons will be taught by the LORD, and great will be your children’s peace.” Isaiah 54:13

Our Mission

We are a Family Ministry of Canyon Ridge Christian Church. Our vision is to partner with mothers and fathers as they seek the Lord in discipling their children through home education. Our goal is to establish the character of Christ in our homes, and to equip and preserve future generations to serve Him. We use the Bible as our standard of conduct and seek to represent Christ at all times. Membership is open to all families who agree to abide by this authority.

What We Do

Volunteers make this ministry possible. By sharing our gifts, we all benefit from a variety of member-sponsored ideas, activities, and classes. Our activities are meant to enhance, and not overshadow, your family’s homeschool. We strive to offer family activities, and some specifically geared to our elementary tween, and teen children.

In the past, we have offered family picnics, service projects, field trips, park days, science fairs, graduation & promotion ceremonies, to name a few. Each year is different, based on the contributions of our members. We ask all parents, and even teen members, to prayerfully consider where they can serve the group.

Join Us

The heart of our ministry is supporting parents as they raise families to serve Christ. For this reason, we hold several Parent Nights throughout the year to encourage you in this endeavor. If you are new to homeschooling, or to EAGLES, we encourage you and your spouse to attend our Newcomer’s Orientation in August, or a Mentoring Hour before one of our other Parent Nights. This will allow us to meet in person and discuss any questions you may have and give you a feel for the group. Because the meeting focuses on supporting the needs of parents, we ask that children do not attend (with the exception of nursing infants). We do offer childcare (on a donation basis) for this reason. Reservations are required. Please contact Krissy Runion for more information and to secure your spot for childcare. Listed below are the dates for Fall 2013:

  • August 27th: Newcomer’s Orientation 6:30-8:30pm in The Lodge
  • September 3rd: Parent Night 7-9pm in the Lodge (Newcomer Mentoring from 6-7pm)
  • October 1st: Parent Night from 7-9pm in C100
  • November 5th Parent Night from 7-9pm in C100

We look forward to being a part of your homeschool journey!
