Good With God | Session 2

Welcome to the next session of the Good with God group study! Each week we will receive a tip for how we can help our group have the best experience as we use the Discovery Bible Study(DBS) method. Download the study guide below to follow along!

Our first tip for DBS is this: Encourage discovery of the group far more than any teaching or sharing advice. You will see in the Discovery Study tips below that we don’t want to be the teachers, but we want God to be the teacher through his word. It can be so tempting to jump in and teach, but we could be taking away from what God is trying to say to others when we do. John 6:44-46, John 14:16-17, 26; and John 16:13 among other places speak to this reality of God being our teacher. Why else do you think encouraging personal discovery from God’s word itself rather than teaching could be important?

CONNECT

1. What is something you’re thankful for?

2. What has been challenging for you or the people in your life or community this week?

3. How can this group help support one of the needs among us or in our community?

RECAP

4. Someone retell the passage from your previous meeting (Acts 2… the first church!)

5. Did you do what you said you were going to do and share with who you said you were going to share with? how did it go? Share any stories that came from living out your “I will”!

DISCOVER WHAT GOD IS SAYING

This week we are learning about the story of Genesis 2:4-25. Gather with your people to listen deeply and ask meaningful questions to reveal what Jesus might be saying to you through this story! Don’t forget to download the study guide to get all the questions, notes, and follow along with the group!
